Name: Misato Katsuragi

Misato Katsuragi is the Evangelion pilots' main superior officer.
Responsible for the operations of the whole NERV headquarters whenever the
commander is not present, Misato has only one goal in life: to destroy the
angels that killed her father during the Second Impact. His death caused
her great mental trauma which led to a long period of agnosia (loss of speech).
Misato during the course of the series became Shinji's guardian, caretaker
figure. A slob and a drunk in her private life, she is resourceful and courageous
on the job.
An attractive woman with a cheerful, optimistic personality, Misato is also
the only living human being to witness the Second Impact first hand and
to have survived.
She, in Fuyutski's terms witnessed hell. With information provided by Kaji,
Misato is also in search of the truth behind Gendo.

Name: Ritsuko Akagi
Age: 30
Birthdate: November 12

A scientist belonging to the first section of the Techology Bureau of
the Technology Development Department in NERV HQ (wow!). She is responsible
for the E Project and is the daughter of Dr.Akagi Naoko, who built the basic
system of MAGI. Usually in white coat, she consumes lots of coffee and tobacco
when she works. She also has been a friend of Misato since college years.
Although like her mother she engaged in adultery with Ikari Gendou, she
rebelled against him at the final stage of the Complementation Plan. As
an act of taking revenge on him, she destroyed all the copies of Ayanami
Rei. As a result, she was placed under solitary confinement within NERV
HQ. However, since she is needed for the self defence of MAGI, she is released.

| Shinji's Friend |
Name: Kensuke Aida
Age: 14
Birthdate: September 12
|
Another close friend and classmate of Shinji. Kensuke always tags along
with Touji and vice-versa. A military fanatic, Kensuke always carries his
camera with him where ever he goes.
After the incident which resulted to the destruction to Tokyo-3, he moved
away with his family to find a safer living place.

Name: Gendo Ikari
Age: 48
Birthdate: April 29

The commander of the secret agency NERV. His old surname was Rokubungi.
He changed his name after he married Ikari Yui, whom he knew since student
years.
He became the president of the Research Institue for Artificial Evolution,
which was actually a front cover for the works of "E Project".
After Yui died, he busied himself with "Adam Project" and "Human
Instrumentality Project".
He got the support from SEELE, and managed to realise things like the
construction of EVA. However, his alliance with SEELE lasted only until
the elimination of the last Angel. Afterwards, their differences in objectives
became apparent and it developed into violent military clashes.

Name: Kouzou Fuyutski
Age: 58
Birthdate: April 9

One of the few people who actually know what is going on within the series
of Evangelion. He, along with Gendo Ikari know if human fate is even projected
on the Dead Sea Scrolls.
However, unlike Gendo, Kouzou has learned to be a bit more closer to the
rest of the NERV staff than Gendo. However, he has learned to control himself
when telling secrets about NERV and all behind it.
Originally from the University of Tokyo, Fuyutski was the teacher of
Meta-Biology. He is also the teacher of Yui Ikari and was comissioned
by Gendo on Project Geihrin. An open, yet very secretive person.

| NERV Special Force / SEELE Agent |
Name: Ryouji Kaji
Age: 30
Birthdate: July 17
Bloodtype: A |
Together with Asuka Langley Soryu, he comes to Japan from NERV Section
Three in Germany. He is an old friend of Misato and Ritsuko. He was an old
lover of Misato during their college days.
Despite his handsome appearance and deceiving smile, Ryouji has different
intentions rather than serving NERV and Gendo Ikari. Kaji belonged to the
Special Surveillance Department os NERV. However, he also belonged to the
Department of Internal Ministry of the Government of Japan as well as an
agent of SEELE.
Ryouji's connections within NERV gave him access to such material as
Adam located in Terminal Dogma. Kaji was killed when NERV found out his
role in the kidnapping of Kouzou Fuyutski. He left all the products of
his investigation to Misato

Name: Keel Lorenz

The chairman of the Committee of Human Complementation, also the director
of SEELE. His body is totally machine from head down. He gave instructions
of direct occupation of the secret agency NERV, so as to start complementation
with EVA-01.

| Shinji's Mother |
Name: Yui Ikari
Age: 27 (1977-2004 AD) |
Little is known about Yui Ikari except for a few facts presented in the
series. For starters, Yui Ikari was the student of Kouzou Fuyutski in the
University of Tokyo. There, she also met Gendo who later became her husband.
She was a very loving mother to Shinji and a husband to Gendo. However,
during one of her experiments which was witnessed by Shinji first-hand,
Yui Ikari was tragically killed and absorbed into EVA-01 when she achieved
synchro rate of 400%. Same thing happens to Shinji in Episode 19-20, but
unlike his mother, he was somehow able to rematerialize. Nevertheless, her
soul remained within Unit 01. It seems that she willed the accident to happen.
She then was cloned by Gendo in the form of Rei Ayanami and explains
Rei's resemblance to Shinji's mother.

Name: Hikari Horaki
Age: 14
Birthdate: February 18 |
Hikari Horaki is also known as the Class Rep in Shinji's class. Hardworking
and the almost too-typical class rep presented in any series.
Hikari is also a close friend of Asuka Langely when Asuka arrived from Germany
from NERV Branch 3.
However, in Volume 9 of the Evangelion series, we learn too, that Hikari
Horaki sees something more in Touji Suzuhara (a crush or something).
After the incident which resulted to the destruction to Tokyo-3, she
moved away with her family to find a safer living place.

Name: Makoto Hyuga
Age: 23
Birthdate: February 13
Bloodtype: B |
Hyuga is the assistant strategist of NERV. Whenever the opponent strikes
(Angels, etc.) Misato and Hyuga are often the ones to discuss strategy to
maximize the use of the Evangelions without doing much harm to the pilots.
Because of being kept in the dark too long, Makoto Hyuga begins to search
the truth behind NERV and the Evangelions. With the help of Kaji and Misato,
the three discover things that should be kept secret.

Name: Shigeru Aoba
Age: 23
Birthdate: May 5
Bloodtype: A |
| Often seen with Hyuga and Maya in the front part of the terminals in the
Geo-Front, Aoba is often quiet and not talks about anything much. Aoba is
the operator of the Central Military Operation Room at NERV headquarters.
However, one thing is for certain: Aoba likes guitars, that he brings his
guitar to work (but keeps it when he is on duty), but still manages to practice
a few chords with an imaginary guitar. His rank is Lieutenant. |

Name: Maya Ibuki
Age: 23
Birthdate: July 11

Maya Ibuki is often seen with Dr. Ritsuko Akagi whenever Ritsuko is about
to prepare any experiments relating to the Evangelions or even regarding
the Magis.
Her job is often in the lines of getting sych ratings of Eva pilots, as
well as gathering other Eva related data. Maya knows a lot of technical
stuff within the series, however there are things that she is also kept
in the dark with. She has a lot of respect for Dr. Ritsuko Akagi.
She is fastidious, but honest and sincere. She holds the rank of Second
Lieutenant.

| Misato's Pet |
Name: Pen-Pen
Age: ?? |
The other roommate of Shiji, Pen-Pen is not to be mistaken for an Antarctic
penguin. Pen-Pen is the new breed of Tropical Penguins.
Pen-Pen was actually part of an experiment, but when they were ready to
get rid of Pen-Pen, Misato felt sorry and took Pen-Pen home with her.
This cute little animal has been in numerous episodes already, providing
some comic relief and humor whenever Misato and Asuka couldn't. Believe
it or not, Pen-Pen has learned to eat curry and drink beer.
Because of the potential dangers that face Misato, Misato has in-trusted
Hikari Horaki to take care of Pen-Pen.
